enough snow already

A couple days before the winter storm hit in Delaware in 2026. I asked my husband if we have enough salt or sand, if not he should stopped and get them after work. I do not get in-charge, assuming myself haha . From that day, every morning I opened the curtain window from the bed room and look if snow come. The first day, nothing. It was calm , quiet and peaceful as usual. The second day morning, nothing and then the night when we were sleeping....? The next morning, I thought was weekend, heavy snow falling , clam but unstoppable for 2 days. I remembered, we were shoveling snow on Monday and we were exhausting. It was not much when compared to the one hit in January 24, 2016 but this time was SUPER COLD. I was freezing while shoveling. After the winter storm day and we were done shoveling, we discussed about getting an electric snow shovel but not the big one as we did not want to pay. Our driveway and footpath was not that HUGE. Maybe the handy one. Well, we did not purchase. 

Today, February 23, 2026 while I am writing and sipping my hot cocoa after tired shoveling AGAIN hooowwww!  I heard the weather forecast on TV, the reporters said, " We just got the icy melted and seeing our grass in the yards but snow is coming on the weekend". Gosh! no word to say more than this. There is somewhat of icy still in our property and I was happy to see the grass in our yard. AGAIN? huum, I think " maybe not that bad as we thought". Last night, my husband came to me and told me to look on the del..something website as he wanted to point me what snow we expected. The number appeared on the news was 18-24 inches. I told him, "I do not think we would get that much. I think it was just warning and keep looking. It may be less or the same as the earlier storm we just got. Yes, my thought was right. 

We helped each other pushed the snow on the driveway. It was still soft and easy to push. The thick snow heavier and harder shoveled. We had to lift the shovel and dropped snow many times. That cause us back pain and hand muscle sore. 

Well, I do not go out, no outside work today but my husband may. He called his work in the morning and the message said, "The building will close until 10am. I told him to call again at 10am if they change to close for the day. I want him to rest at home and yeah! he stayed home. I went to grab the work laptop yesterday after his college texted that if much snow then the building may close.

This time, snow melted fast. It was good.
