THE 7 CHICK STARS (edited)

Long time ago, a poor old man and his wife lived in a small cottage in the wood. One day, a monk came to stay nearby to practice Thamma.

The old couple wanted to make a merit but they did not have anything to cook the food.  They had a hen and 7 chicks.

The old man had an idea to kill the hen to cook for a monk.  The mother hen heard what they said to each other. Then she said to her chicks "I'm going to die tomorrow" all the chicks held each other and cry.  She said that," the old couple was very good to us long time, they took care of me since I did not have all of you. It is time for me to repay them.  I want you to be good children when I'm gone, don't fight and peck each other".  

In the next morning, the old man started the fire to cook the hen.  It is a pain and sadness, heartbroken for all the chicks.  All the chicks are crying, crying and jumping into the fire

The greathearted seven chicks are reborn to be a group of seven chick-stars. Their twinkle brightnesses generate them to be seen in the night sky even now.
