Comparatives

Last week both of my classes studied about "Comparatives" .

The definition on Wikipedia as below: 

In grammar, the comparative is the form of an adjective or adverb which denotes the degree or grade by which a person, thing, or other entity has a property or quality greater or less in extent than that of another, and is used in this context with a subordinating conjunction, such as than, as...as, etc.^[1] If three or more items are being compared, the corresponding superlative needs to be used instead.

Holiday 2010

We were planning to visit my husband's family in North Dakota from the 22nd until the 26th of Dec. for X-mas. Everything was good at the airport and made me think that this trip would be smoother than the one 2 years ago. We were at Minneapolis Airport about 1:30 pm, checked in and went to the gate to ask about our seats. The airline staff told us to wait for a while because they were doing maangement. We waited until almost boarding time and then they told us our seats had been taken away. What?

They told us our flight would not be until the next afternoon but we couldn't wait. They gave us some other options and so we chose a sooner flight to the closet place to our destination. They gave us discount coupons for tickets to be good for a year.

We needed to change our car rental pick up  location, so we needed to use the internet. We noticed that there were not many internet stations because everyone had laptops. We agreed to get a laptop because it was necessary for times like this.


We stayed in Minneapolis Airport from 1:30 to 10:00 pm and got to our new destination. We drove about 3 hours to our hotel. It was the same distance as our original destination but the time we were in the airport was very boring.
I was so happy in North Dakota this year because we did not have a snow storm and the sky was beautiful. My husband took me to his family's ranch and a dam where I wanted to take photos. We had a good time with his family and also I got many presents. I love X-mas.






On the day we were to be back in Delaware there was a problem again. Our flight from Minneapolis was cancelled and the airline told us that it would be 2 days until the schedule would be back to normal, because of the weather.



My husband was really frustrated. Finally, we changed to another destination but still had to stay one night in Minneapolis. We flew at 7am and got to Pittsburgh at 10am and then drove 7 hours to Philadelphia, picked up our car and drove back home safely.


A car which the company provide us was one choice. Do you believe we drove it 7 hours in bad weather like this time.

Someone in the crowd

Torpong was just somebody in the crowd on the day I met him. He walked up to me and asked me about the product we were showing in the factory exhibition. From that day we were in contacting often but only in professional situations. I do not remember when our relationship changed to close friendship. He is a kind person .He who never deny denied me when I asked for help. He helped me moved 3 times, and also helped my father solve some computer's problems. Currently, we are still be a good friends.

Friendship happens all the time if you open yourself and your mind to knew know somebody who is a stranger and change them into  someone you know.
